Tucked near the heart of Chalon-sur-Saône’s lively town square, this spot offers a calm yet casual place to enjoy regional flavors from Burgundy alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of drinks. The atmosphere blends cozy and trendy, with its welcoming terrace shaded under leafy trees—a nice refuge for lunch or dinner on a mild day. Inside, the red Chesterfield-style seating adds character, inviting diners to settle in with a good coffee or a cocktail.
The menu leans toward approachable French brasserie fare, featuring solid options like large salads, croque monsieur or madame, and dishes served with fries that tend to please group diners. There’s a range of choices from vegetarian and healthy options to hearty items like stewed beef, veal with mushroom sauce, and well-regarded burgers. The drink list complements the food well, with a great selection of beers on tap, an appealing wine list, and a bar serving cocktails and hard liquor. It’s also a spot where happy hour and late-night bites make an appearance.
The clientele is diverse, welcoming families with kids, solo diners, and groups, including tourists and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The environment is relaxed and friendly, though evenings can sometimes draw a livelier crowd which might not suit everyone. Accessibility is clearly considered, with wheelchair-friendly entrances, seating, and restrooms. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite, a leisurely coffee, or a casual dinner with friends, this restaurant offers a genuine local experience without the rush or fuss of a usual tourist trap.

5 Fabulous. Very good value, especially the specials. Food tastes and looks great. Good selection of beers on tap. All so delicious that I wanted dessert. Great service. Authentic and characterful French brasserie bar, with cool red Chesterfield style seating inside. If you're British and liked the 'pretend'/chain French restaurants in the UK, you'll like it.
5 Un bel accueil , pour ce petit restaurant bien situé dans la ville , ombragé en terrasse , la côte de veau est très bonne une petite sauce forestière . Service souriant et rapide . Budget 25€ par personne sans vin
5 Nice restaurant to try some regional menus from burgundy
4 We were very happy with our lunches. Large salads and croque monsieur or madams seemed the best dishes with fries. The stewed beef with fries. Anything that comes with fries worked well for our large party. The food was fast and correct. I didn’t like my chicken covered in cheese sauce and wished I got the sauce on the side for a lighter lunch. The salad starter was very tasty with a honey mustard dressing. The kids menu was good as well. The set menu with the dessert was tasty as well. I would not hesitate to come back.
5 Équipe super sympa, accueil au top ! Les patrons sont formidables. N’hésitez pas à venir manger ou simplement boire un verre : l’ambiance est très agréable. Un restaurant qui donne vraiment envie de revenir !
5 Luncheon today. Duck maigret for my companion, salade de chèvre chaud for me. A carafe of Vin Rouge Cote de Rhone was a delightful accompaniment. While companion’s frites were a little soft, I could not fault my meal. Umbrellas duly activated when the sun became too much, it was a wonderful meal all round, reasonably priced.
5 Very friendly service and the food was very good. Nice terrace with view on a pretty church. And not expensive, very good value for money, I’d recommend
