About Le Saint Pierre

Set near the lively heart of Chalon-sur-Saône, this spot offers a relaxed and approachable take on French brasserie dining. It’s a place where you might find yourself unwinding on the shaded terrace with a well-poured beer or cocktail, soaking in the casual buzz of the neighborhood. The atmosphere inside, with its comfortable red Chesterfield seating, leans into a cozy yet trendy feel that suits solo visitors and groups alike.

The menu leans towards hearty, familiar dishes — think large salads, croque monsieur or madame, and regional specialties like Côte de veau with a forestière sauce. These are the kind of meals you’d enjoy at a leisurely lunch or a casual dinner, accompanied by one of their thoughtfully selected wines or coffees. There’s enough variety to accommodate vegetarian and healthier choices, making it a spot that welcomes different tastes and dining needs.

Regulars and visitors appreciate the welcoming, easygoing vibe here, which extends to families, tourists, and the LGBTQ+ community, all finding a safe and friendly space. While the service tends to be warm and attentive, the liveliness sometimes brings a spirited crowd later in the evening, so it’s worth considering the mood if you’re after a more tranquil meal.

Accessibility is well taken care of, with wheelchair-friendly entrances, seating, and facilities, alongside practical amenities like paid parking and a dog-friendly policy. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick bite, a happy hour drink, or a relaxed dinner with friends, this corner of town offers a grounded and genuine experience away from the usual tourist tracks.

What Locals Say

Fabulous. Very good value, especially the specials. Food tastes and looks great. Good selection of beers on tap. All so delicious that I wanted dessert. Great service. Authentic and characterful French brasserie bar, with cool red Chesterfield style seating inside. If you're British and liked the 'pretend'/chain French restaurants in the UK, you'll like it.

Un bel accueil , pour ce petit restaurant bien situé dans la ville , ombragé en terrasse , la côte de veau est très bonne une petite sauce forestière . Service souriant et rapide . Budget 25€ par personne sans vin

We were very happy with our lunches. Large salads and croque monsieur or madams seemed the best dishes with fries. The stewed beef with fries. Anything that comes with fries worked well for our large party. The food was fast and correct. I didn’t like my chicken covered in cheese sauce and wished I got the sauce on the side for a lighter lunch. The salad starter was very tasty with a honey mustard dressing. The kids menu was good as well. The set menu with the dessert was tasty as well. I would not hesitate to come back.

Équipe super sympa, accueil au top ! Les patrons sont formidables. N’hésitez pas à venir manger ou simplement boire un verre : l’ambiance est très agréable. Un restaurant qui donne vraiment envie de revenir !

Luncheon today. Duck maigret for my companion, salade de chèvre chaud for me. A carafe of Vin Rouge Cote de Rhone was a delightful accompaniment. While companion’s frites were a little soft, I could not fault my meal. Umbrellas duly activated when the sun became too much, it was a wonderful meal all round, reasonably priced.

Very friendly service and the food was very good. Nice terrace with view on a pretty church. And not expensive, very good value for money, I’d recommend
